| Subject: The Tudors is not so real! Mon Jan 24, 2011 1:19 am | |
| The Tudors Seasons 1-4 DVD is based upon the reign of English monarch Henry VIII, and is named after the Tudor dynasty. Events in the series differ from events as they actually happened in history. Liberties are taken with character names, relationships, physical appearance and the timing of events. The portrait of Henry, is wonderful. Lest we forget; he was quite handsome and charismatic in his younger days. As he continued getting his way both in politics and the bedroom, he grew more and more self-absorbed and ruthless. As the opening of the show tells the viewer, "You think you know a story but you only know how it ends. To get to the heart of a story you have to go back to the beginning". The show takes many liberties, but that's why it's entertainment and not a biographic film on the King. It's fascinating to see what is kept of what many believe to be true and what is changed. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is a handsome actor and he plays the larger than life King Henry the VIII. Tragic Anne who Henry VIII was so hot for he put aside Catherine of Aragon for her. Anne was a vain and arrogant woman. In those days only blonds had more fun, unless you were Anne Boleyn who was known to have may admirers. The Tudors Seasons 1-4 DVD Catherine of Aragon. She was a Spanish princess turned Queen of England. While the actress who portrayed her was fine, she needed lighter hair. This is an exciting TV drama full of historic events, emotions, political ambitions and sexual relations. And i love this show, which is most important. | |
